Golden Manor Jewish Senior Services works to meet the needs and enrich the lives of Jewish seniors in the San Antonio area through services that keep seniors connected to the broader Jewish community, and with financial and other forms of assistance to those in need.

The Barshop Jewish Community Center (JCC) includes people of all ages, incomes, faiths and ethnic backgrounds. Membership is open to all members of the community.  Jewish culture and holidays are celebrated, with a focus on fostering family unity and promoting the value systems of the Jewish people. 

JCC programs include a nationally-accredited nursery school, an after-school center for school age children, a variety of summer camp programs, weekly programming for senior adults, and many cultural, educational and recreational programs. Activities for all active-duty military and their dependents are offered. The Center serves as the organizing agency of the city-wide Senior Olympics.

Athletic facilities include a 25-meter outdoor swimming pool and recreation-family swim area, Jacuzzi and training pool, seven lighted tennis courts, a state-of-the art fitness center with weight training equipment, and a double gymnasium.

The Jewish Family Service strengthens the quality of Jewish family life through professional counseling and educational seminars for all age groups. JFS is nationally accredited and fees are established on a sliding scale. JFS maintains the highest level of confidentiality.

Programs include:
• Counseling for individuals, couples, families, groups and children (ages 5-60). Play therapy is offered for the younger children.
• Senior Adult Service programs and counseling for older adults (61 years and up), assessments and assistance to caregivers.

1.Project Chaver - “friend” - Providing voluntary services to seniors to help them maintain their independence in the community.

2.Solutions - Assisting seniors with complicated medical forms and personal finances.

The Eleanor Kolitz Academy, accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest, provides children from kindergarten through middle school with a comprehensive curriculum which includes both secular and Judaic studies during regular school hours. The school tries to instill in its students a deep sense of love, respect and commitment to the land of Israel, the Jewish people and the Torah.
