Stewardship Earth Weekend Reception

Thursday afternoon, March 6

In preparation for Stewardship Earth Weekend on April 18-20, a reception is planned for Thursday, March 6, 2008 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Beacon Hill Presbyterian Church, 1101 West Woodlawn at Michigan Ave., San Antonio, Texas.    Stewardship Earth Weekend is a joint project of the San Antonio Community of Churches, the Office of Social Concerns of the Archdiocese of San Antonio, the Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation of San Antonio, the Bexar Audubon Society, the Alamo Area Council of Governments, and Solar San Antonio, the project coordinator for Stewardship Earth Sermon Weekend.

The purpose of the Reception on March 6th is to publicize Stewardship Earth weekend and to provide an opportunity for congregational religious leaders and lay people to gather information and resources helpful in preparing sermons and organizing environmental efforts or classes.  It will also provide an opportunity for members with similar interests from other congregations to network. Brochures will be available from Solar San Antonio, SAWS, CPS energy and other groups.

There will also be speakers on topics of interest to participants such as ways to green up their church or synagogue building.

The event is designed for individuals to drop in any time from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. and stay as long as they want.

For more information, call the Community Relations Council office at 302-6960.
