The Community Relations Council (CRC) of the Jewish Federation of San Antonio shall inform the Jewish and non-Jewish community on matters, problems and events which are regarded as significantly affecting the local Jewish community, and shall mobilize action on such matters when appropriate. The CRC shall interpret the position and needs of the Jewish people throughout the world for the San Antonio community, and shall foster amicable relationships with and between other religious, ethnic, racial and national groups in the San Antonio area. It shall cope immediately and professionally with problems involving overt or potential anti-Semitism affecting the San Antonio Jewish community.

The Community Relations Council mission is:

• To convene all the major Jewish organizations in San Antonio on a regular basis in order to act as the council of representatives for the organized Jewish community of San Antonio. To foster understanding, cooperation, sound and amicable relationships among Jewish organizations in San Antonio, and to encourage consensus building on public issues, where needed, among and between such organizations
• To foster understanding, cooperation and amicable relations between the Jewish and general communities, including other ethnic, racial national and religious groups; to endeavor with the Jewish and general communities to resolve issues of mutual concern; and to develop effective public opinion and action on those issues.
• To promote and advance the interests of the Jewish people, to preserve and maintain the dignity and integrity of the Jewish people and to defend and protect their civil, political and religious rights wherever such rights, or the rights of individual Jews, are in jeopardy.
• To interpret the positions and needs of the State and people of Israel to the local Jewish community, the community at large and the various levels of government.
• To strengthen and promote a better understanding of the special relationship between the United States and Israel.
• To foster freedom of opinion, expression and association, to help assure freedom of religious practice, and to help maintain the separation of church and state.
