Giving Societies

Lion of Judah

The Lions are strong women of all ages, an international sisterhood of thousands of global activists who care deeply about the Jewish future. They demonstrate our dedication to the Jewish community by contributing their time and resources. Lions of Judah play a vital role in advocating for social justice, aiding the vulnerable, preserving human dignity, and building Jewish identity. Each woman makes an annual donation to the Jewish Federation that sets an exemplary standard of leadership and giving. The Lion of Judah Society recognizes women who donate $5,000 or more to the Annual Campaign.

  • A beautiful gold pin is available for Lions of Judah, and each year a woman sustains or grows her gift, she is eligible to have a small diamond set in her pin.

  • Each year, donors at this level are celebrated at the Annual Lion of Judah luncheon and at other special events.

  • Lions are invited to attend the International Lion of Judah Conference, which is held every other year.

  • A "Forever Lion" - A planned gift of $100,000 or more creates your Lion of Judah Endowment (LOJE), sustaining your annual gift in perpetuity.

Pomegranate

Pomegranates are women who want to feel connected through networking, volunteering, events, education, and philanthropy. They are women who nurture, sustain, and plant the seeds for the next generation of Jewish leaders. According to the Midrash, each pomegranate contains 613 seeds, one for each of the commandments found in the Torah. Therefore, the pomegranate was chosen as a symbol for Jewish life and commitment. The Pomegranate Society recognizes women who donate $1,800 or more to the Annual Campaign.

  • A beautiful pomegranate pin is available for donors at this level. JFSA will add a ruby "seed" for each year a Pomegranate increases her gift by $180.

  • Donors at this level are celebrated at a special appreciation event each year and will be recognized at other special events.
